  • So I tried ChatGPT.

Q:how to integrate acupuncture in modern health care
    A:
Integrating acupuncture into modern healthcare can be done in several ways:
    1) Incorporating acupuncture into traditional medical treatments: Acupuncture can be used as an adjunct therapy alongside conventional medical treatments for conditions such as chronic pain, headaches, and infertility.
    2) Incorporating acupuncture into hospital-based care: Acupuncture can be offered as a treatment option within hospitals and medical clinics, allowing patients to receive acupuncture as part of their overall healthcare plan.
    3) Offering acupuncture as a covered benefit under insurance plans: Many insurance plans now cover acupuncture as a benefit, making it more affordable and accessible to patients.
    4) Educating healthcare providers about acupuncture: By providing training and continuing education programs for healthcare providers, they can gain knowledge and understanding of acupuncture, and be able to provide informed recommendations to patients.
    5) Conducting research on acupuncture: Clinical trials and research studies can help to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture, which can help to increase support for the treatment among healthcare providers and insurance companies.
    6) Collaborating with acupuncturists and other complementary medicine practitioners to create integrative care teams: This can help to improve communication and coordination of care for patients receiving both traditional and complementary treatments.
    7) Creating referral systems between primary care physicians and acupuncturists: This would allow primary care physicians to refer patients to acupuncturists for treatment, and vice versa, which would improve the continuity of care for patients.
    8) Creating a centralize hub for acupuncture care for patients, it allows for easy access and ensures that only qualified acupuncturist are treating patients and following proper protocols.

  • *ACUPUNCTURISTS WITHOUT BORDERS IS ORGANIZING IN THE NETHERLANDS*

Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB) is actively organizing support for people being forced to flee Ukraine, including Ukrainian citizens, students and migrants from other countries, and
refugees from Africa and the Middle East who once again have to find safe haven.

Currently, in the Netherlands we are:
    * Identifying and securing locations for pop-up clinics, to treat refugees. Pop-up clinic sites need to be clean, safe spaces. We will be providing auricular treatments, therefore we will not need treatment tables! Patients just need comfortable seating. Ideally, we would have a 4 hour time block for set up/breakdown, and to administer treatments on a rolling basis. Depending on the availability of space and volunteer practitioners, we can set up sites at multiple locations, with a minimum frequency of every other week. We also want to make sure locations are as close as possible to where refugees will be staying, so they do not have to go far. *If you have leads on potential clinic sites, please let us know as soon as possible*

    * Organizing supplies and donations. We will need seating, needles, alcohol swabs, sharps containers, mouth caps, and everything else you can think of

    * Starting to screen interested volunteers. All practitioners are welcome. We would especially love to work with local Acupuncture schools, to give student acupuncturists an opportunity to gain clinical experience by treating incoming refugees.
While we appreciate the interest of many people to provide direct services, we have to establish a workable service infrastructure rst. This takes time, money, planning, and help with administration, logistics, public outreach and resource mobilization on the ground. Please let us know if you can contribute any of these skills/actions to this effort!

Information is updated every few days on our website: https://acuwithoutborders.org/ukraine.
Please check for updates here periodically.

  • There has been criticism in the face of the World Health Organization's (WHO) reports on "global governance" of human genome editing. Rightfully so. The WHO says that the reports "provide advice and recommendations on appropriate institutional, national, regional and global governance mechanisms for human genome editing". Dr David King said of the reports: “This is an abdication of the WHO’s responsibility. It is obvious that the only practical solution to the risks of rogue scientists and profit-minded IVF clinics starting a new free market eugenics is a comprehensive global ban treaty. That is why over 70 countries have already effectively banned it. The mealy-mouthed call for ‘governance’ is a technocratic strategy, which we have already seen from other scientific establishment bodies, for eventual normalisation of human genetic engineering.” Stuart A. Newman, PhD, Professor of Cell Biology and Anatomy at New York Medical College, commented, "Leaving the door open to GM humans, as WHO does in these reports, flies in the face of science that demonstrates that embryos cannot be reliably engineered. Every attempt to do so, now or in the future, will be an uncontrolled experiment on a prospective person. There are justified uses of genetic modification to cure diseases in desperately ill patients. CRISPR-modified babies, however, is an unethical technology."
There should be a global ban, not global governance.
